Art on Columbia
Art on Columbia is an eclectic mix of functional art and fine craft by local artists. Located in the historical downtown district of Covington in a turn of the century building, Art on Columbia features one of a kind art pieces. Artists will gladly take custom orders. AOC was featured in the December 2000 issue of Southern Living magazine.

Bonsai Northshore **
Bonsai Northshore's owner Guy Guidry is a world recognized Bonsai artist, honored to have several of his pieces on permanent display in national museums. Bonsai Northshore offers a full range of specimens, from reasonably priced trees for starting collectors to superb ancient specimens for the connoisseur. Spend time strolling through and admiring the huge collection; private and group classes in the art of Bonsai are also available.

Boston House
The Boston House, originally built in 1870, is located in old historic Covington at 708 E. Boston St. It is a beautiful setting for showcasing the works and offerings of twelve separate vendors. Featured are fine French antiques and reproductions, art work, lamps, carpets, and decorative accessories for the home. (985) 898-3526

Brunner Art Gallery **
Brunner Gallery can now be viewed at their new location at 215 N. Columbia Street. Visitors can spend an afternoon browsing and enjoying a piece of small town Southern charm, which contrasts interestingly with the gallery's main focus on contemporary fine art, spanning such styles as abstract expressionism, impressionism, and primitive.

Covington Gallery Partnership
On the second Saturday of each month, the members of the Covington Gallery Partnership invite art patrons to a relaxed evening of art, meeting the artists, socializing, and a glass or two of wine. Fort Isabel Gallery **
Ft. Isabel was founded as a co-operative gallery over ten years ago to showcase the work of the area's established and emerging professional artists. Each month this award winning group of artists offers to the public a new group show, theme show, or individual featured artist. The talents of this select group of artists runs the gamut of artistic expression from landscapes and abstracts to portraits and the three dimensional. There is also a diverse choice of media represented from oil, water color, acrylic, mixed media, clay/raku, to glass sculpture.

H. J. Smith's Sons General Store & Museum
Located in downtown Covington at 308 N. Columbia St., the Smith family has continuously operated this authentic old general store since 1876. A hand-carved cypress canoe, a cast-iron coffin, and many vintage and period household and farm items are displayed in the museum.

Hasslock Studios **
One of the premier providers of fine clay-work, custom tiles, and architectual ceramic detailing for interior and exterior applications. Southern Living magazine recently featured Hasslock Studios as a major point of interest in downtown Covington.

Magic Hammer Forge **
Magic Hammer Forge is based mostly on one of a kind commissioned furniture and accessories. They also design and build railings and gates as well as small sculptures. All work is executed in the spirit of the client's approved design, though consideration for artistic freedom and structural integrity must be allowed. Metal Orchids and Wildlife Art Gallery **
Located at 222 N. Columbia St., this fine arts gallery is devoted to original wildlife art and metal botanical sculptures. Featuring a diverse range of both internationally recognized and "up-and-coming" artists, styles range from original paintings published in numerous scientific publications and books, to impressionistic paintings published in Architectural Digest magazine.

St. Tammany Art Association **
As a non-profit organization, the association has served St. Tammany Parish since 1958, and recently relocated to its new location at 317 N. Columbia St. It has grown into a multi-faceted organization which endeavors to inspire and enrich the community through exhibitions, and educational and arts programming for children and adults.

Stringbeans **
Stringbeans Jewelry and Bead Shop carries the coolest colors and shapes of beads. They carry an almost endless inventory of Swavorski crystals, Czechoslovakian glass, diachronic glass beads, and vintage beads and crystals from the 1940's and 1950's. Walker House, Ltd.
Located on quaint Lee Lane in downtown Covington, Walker House (which has been featured in Southern Living magazine) contains 9 rooms and an old potting shed, all filled with antiques, antique reproductions, garden accessories, and the works of many local artists. In addition, they carry Sophie's Redolieres, Votivo candles, Ahava, Crabtree and Evelyn, Earth Element, Art in Motion, and Shades of Light. Acme Oyster House **
Originally opening in New Orleans in 1910, Acme Oyster House chose Covington's Downtown Historic District for its first new establishment. They are happy to bring their proud tradition of fine cajun food and casual hospitality to the North Shore.

Etoile

Ristorante del Porto
Owned and operated by chefs David and Torre Solazzo, del Porto is located at 205 N. New Hampshire St. Specializing in fine traditional gourmet Italian cuisine, their small intimate dining room is complimented by sidewalk table dining. Global Wildlife Center **
Located 12 mi. NW of Covington, at 26389 Highway 40, Global Wildlife Center features a one-and-a-half hour guided safari wagon tour as a comfortable way to get close to giraffes, zebras, and more than 3,000 exotic and endangered animals from around the world. You'll also have an opportunity to feed the animals in this 900-acre preserve.

NorthLake Nature Center **
The Center is south Louisiana in all her lush and primitive beauty. Northlake Nature Center exists as a caretaker and curator of these vanishing natural and cultural resources and makes them available for study and pleasure. It also sponsors BirdFest, which is held each year in the spring when many species are migrating north through Louisiana from Mexico and South America. The location in southern Louisiana makes this an excellent time of year for birding, with specialized viewing trips and special events available for interested birders.
